Major Traffic Disruptions in Stockholm for the Rest of the Summer
Kungsgatan Roadwork
- Road work is taking place along Kungsgatan in central Stockholm, with the foundation of the street between Sveavägen and Norrlandsgatan being strengthened as part of a project lasting from 2023–2025.
Söderströms Bridge Work
- Region Stockholm is also carrying out work on both the Söderströms bridge between Slussen and Gamla stan and the Norra Danviks bridge.
Tvärbanan Expansion
- The Tvärbanan is also being expanded from Bromma to Helenelund in northwest Stockholm.
Tram and Train Service Disruptions
- Trams between Stora Essingen and Sickla are replaced by bus 30B until August 6th.
- There is also no train service between Hökarängen and Farsta until the night of August 20th due to work on a tunnel to a depot, with replacement bus 18B running instead.
- The Swedish Transport Administration is also refurbishing the railway tunnels south of Solna station until August 14th, mainly affecting travelers to and from Ulriksdal and Upplands Väsby.
- Commuter trains on line 48 are also canceled between Södertälje center and Gnesta until August 5th due to work on the Ström tunnel, with bus 48H replacing them instead.
- Furthermore, no commuter trains stop at Arlanda C due to an accident that occurred on May 27th – for now, they will be stopping at Märsta and Rosersberg instead. SL bus line 583 runs between Märsta and Arlanda.
Other Disruptions
- The new Lidingö Bridge is being connected with the rest of the Lidingö Railway, meaning that tram traffic needs to be cancelled until September 10th.
- The Saltsjöbanan is also closed until March 2024, with buses replacing it in the meantime.
- Additionally, some departures on Spårväg city line 7 are replaced by buses during the summer due to a shortage of carriages.
