Donald Trump Denies All Charges in Court Hearing

Trump Appears in Court for First Time

Former US President Donald Trump appeared in court in Washington DC for the first time on Tuesday, denying all criminal charges in the case against him.

Trump Denies All Criminal Charges

Surrounded by his defense lawyers, Trump was formally arrested and asked to provide his fingerprints and personal information before the court hearing began. He had the indictment read to him and then answered whether he considered himself guilty or not. As he has done in the past, Trump denied all criminal charges.

Trump’s Indictment on Four Counts

Trump is facing four counts, including conspiring against the US state and trying to obstruct a public act when Joe Biden’s election victory was confirmed in January 2021.

Trump Calls Court Appearance a ‘Persecution’

When the former president left Washington DC, he told reporters that it was “a very sad day for the United States.” He also said that this is a “persecution of a political opponent” and that it should never have happened.

Next Court Hearing Set for August 28

The next court hearing will take place on August 28.

Investigation Continues

The investigation is being led by the Department of Justice’s special prosecutor Jack Smith, who will continue to gather evidence against the former president. It remains to be seen how this case will play out in court and if Trump will face any consequences for his actions.
