Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson Invites to a National Climate Meeting

Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has called for a national climate meeting in Stockholm on June 16. This was announced by the Prime Minister on Facebook on Wednesday.

The invitation was extended by Energy and Industry Minister Ebba Busch (KD) and Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L). The invitation is extended to hundreds of representatives from business, universities, civil society and the trade union movement.

In his post, Kristersson said that the purpose of the meeting is to take in views on the work with the climate action plan that will be presented later this year. He said that if Sweden wants to combat the climate crisis, it needs to lay a stable foundation for industry’s green transition, new technology and climate-smart investments.
